Dementia Day Care Services available to suit all needs
We understand
the pressures involved in caring for someone with dementia or Alzheimer's.
We can include services, such as bathing etc, to help you through your
day to day care needs. This can be done on one-off session or by regular
days per week or month.
Our staff are trained to care for people with differing levels of need.
They all receive core training in Dementia care, moving and lifting,
basic first aid and food hygiene. Most of our staff are trained to at
least NVQ level 2 and our shift leaders to NVQ level 3.
Subject to your enquiry, we would arrange to meet you and the person
needing care. We would run through a quick assessment process with you
both.
This would either be at your home or at Glenside. In any event, we would
encourage you to visit Glenside to view our services and ask any additional
questions you may have.
If you wanted to proceed with a day care service then we would ask you
to complete one of our personal history questionnaires. With this, we
will try to build up a picture of the individual and adapt our day care
around this. We would try to focus activities to them as well as having
communal activities. These are organised by our own staff as well as
external entertainers.
We hope our service would allow your loved ones to meet new people and
makes friends and at the same time allow you to have some quality time.
 We
can offer day care services from 8.45am to 6.00pm.
We are happy for our
service to be used
for a few hours as
a one off or on a regular day
to day basis. All day care rates include meals, drinks and snacks.
